"The Ministry of Housing has been evaluating a group of tax proposals by the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (Capeco) in order to boost productivity and investment in the sector, after some contraction was presented by the international crisis" he said.
He said that so far his office has held four meetings with Capeco and during the next meeting to be held from Fiestas Patrias, the business association issued its proposed bill.
"The proposed Capeco will be analyzed and reviewed by experts from the Ministry of Housing and then presented to the Council of Ministers, then obviously it will initiate legislation as urgent as Congress," he said.
The minister expressed the hope that you will get the support and consensus with other cabinet members for the proposal forward, especially since the purpose is to promote the construction sector has been affected by the global financial crisis.
According to the National Statistics Institute (INEI), the construction sector grew 16.46 percent in 2008, but in the first five months of 2009 has accumulated a 2.55 percent growth.
"Obviously this is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing which goes hand Capeco orders, and we know we need consensus in the Council of Ministers or perhaps a majority support for its submission to Parliament as a bill," he said.
He stressed that the Housing Ministry's objective is to resume significant growth recorded by the construction sector in previous years.
Allison oversaw construction of the seawall and the modern tourist resort that has the Costa Verde, in the Lima district of Magdalena del Mar.
