The 89.3% of departments are the immediate supply of housing in Lima and Callao

The Institute of Construction and Development (ICD), basic body of the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (Capeco) reported that departments make up 89.3 percent from the immediate supply of housing in Metropolitan Lima and Callao.
"The total supply of housing works census conducted in July 2009 in Lima and Callao reported a total of 18.159 units, unlike 2008 (13.881 households) representing an increase of 30.82 percent in terms of units," said ICD technical director Jose Luis Ayllon.
The square meters for 2009 reported 796.923 million, which compared to 2008 show an increase of 36.74 percent in terms of area.
He argued that the type of housing unit multifamily housing remains the most representative in the market of Lima and Callao, with 16.221 houses departments versus 1.938.
The departments represent 89.33 percent of total units, while the area representing 92.68 percent of the total supply of housing.
According to the classification of housing in different price ranges established and according to the results, the supply of housing by July 2009 is produced mainly in the intermediate price range (between 30,000 and $ 80,000) with 7.457 units.
Followed by those that occur in higher price ranges (greater than $ 80,000) with 6.587 units, and finally in the lower price ranges (less than $ 30,000) with 4.115 units.
Capeco today introduced the Study XIV Urban Market Buildings in Metropolitan Lima and Callao - 2009, which document is a working tool and necessary and after consultation, including economic feasibility studies, financial statements required in any project.
On the other hand, Ayllon said that by July 2009 we obtained a total of 13.381 housing units under construction sold, of which correspond to 1.783 to 11.598 homes and apartments.
He said 79.4 percent of the inhabitants of Lima and Callao resides in a home that is proper and paid, while only 11.2 percent do so in a rented dwelling.
The 91.62 percent of the families in Metropolitan Lima and Callao independent lives at home, the 3.99 percent live in apartment, while a 2.08 percent it does in fifth.
