In coordination with the National Police of Peru (PNP), the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) said it has already got the additional land for expansion of the southern international airport Jorge Chavez.
"We worked with the PNP in the release of some land that is in the south of the airport, adjacent to the area where trucks enter to make merchandise of foreign trade and occupied by the Police Dog," the Minister of Transport and Communications, Henry Cornejo.
Now the kennels of the PNP will be located in front of the air terminal, on land belonging to the regional government of Callao, told Andina news agency.
"We are making efforts for small spaces at the airport because there is at least one airline to park their planes on the side of the sleeve," he said.
He also confirmed that as of this month, MTC will begin to deliver the main land for the construction of the second runway of the airport Jorge Chavez, a process that will continue until February.
"We are about to start delivery of many of the most important fields, especially those located at the northern end of the airport," he said after inaugurating the International Forum Logistics Airport: Safety in the air cargo and challenge to new regulations. "
He explained that although not the area where it will build the second runway, the expropriation of land located at the northern end is important because in this area will be installed services and other alternatives.
He noted that the arbitration proceedings major land will end in November and, consequently, will be able to be received by the state and then deliver them to Lima Airport Partners (LAP), the concessionaire at the airport.
