proinversion The Agency for Promotion of Private Investment (ProInversión) called for the granting of Tranche 2 of the road on the Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America (IIRSA) Center, after having modified the route of this branch to attract the most interest from investors .

The grant scheme of Section 2 of IIRSA Center is an investment that will be given by the magnitude of the winning bid, with an estimated investment in compulsory works in the order of $ 60 million, including the General Sales Tax (IGV) as the promotion plan approved by that entity in late September.

This amount does not include operation and maintenance costs, the same that will be the responsibility of the concessionaire.

In July 2007 this process was declared void because the interested investors expressed concern that only one signature would be responsible for implementing the initiative, thus assuming all the risks.

Consequently, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) conducted a series of studies to make the project viable and attract the most interest from investors, taking into account the economic and social impact of this road.

Initially the grant was the set up of the section from the bridge Ricardo Palma (Lima) and passes through the towns of La Oroya (Junín), Huanuco and Tingo Maria (both in the Huanuco region) and Pucallpa (Ucayali).

However, now the Center IIRSA Section 2 which will be given to grant includes the Bridge Ricardo Palma - La Oroya - Huancayo and La Oroya - Cerro de Pasco Bypass, with an approximate length of 370 kilometers.

The project mainly involves implementation of rehabilitation and improvement, besides the operation and maintenance activities during the concession period is 25 years.

The competition factor that will define the contest winner will be determined by the works that the concessionaire is willing to execute the works in addition to the State to set as mandatory.

One of the main benefits of this grant is to initially integrate the central Peru and enhance trade between this region, the capital and other regions.

Besides improving the transportation infrastructure of Peru to further integrate the country with Brazil and opportunities of bilateral trade.
